UK Foreign and Security Policy
RUSI analyses today’s critical UK foreign policy issues, including the impact of Brexit, the response to Russia and China, and the Asian Pivot.
In a rapidly changing international environment, RUSI examines the important foreign policy choices that will shape the direction of UK foreign, security and defence priorities. Are its traditional alliances with the US and Europe fit for purpose? How does the government balance the (often competing) demands on foreign policy to promote prosperity, protect national security, defend human rights overseas and contribute to international poverty reduction? How far will the UK take the ‘pivot’ to the Indo-Pacific, and is there a risk that this effort could come at the expense of its role in Europe or in Africa?
