I think the Chinese authorities are very reluctant to resort to the use of force and take the risk of a conflict that could lead to a direct war with the United States, throwing away the economic gains achieved by successive Chinese governments over recent decades. Rather, it will keep trying to persuade the international community that the Taiwan Strait question is an internal Chinese matter to be resolved without outside interference."
