This meeting was incredibly important for a number of reasons - first and foremost to re-establish a normal working relationship between the two countries... It seems over the last few years the relationship between the US and China has become much more confrontational, and while it's not going to be a perfect relationship, they're not going to see eye to eye on a number of issues, they still need to work together. They're the two largest global powers and it's just not tenable for International Security for them not to have a decent working relationship..."
