A study by the London-based Royal United Services Institute reveals that an increase in drone production to the extent to which the devices are currently used (and consumed) in the Ukrainian theatre of war is hardly possible in the foreseeable future without recourse to Chinese raw materials and manufacturing parts. The author of the study, Robert Tollast, states that Ukraine's supply of drones of all kinds is now around 9,000 per day...Tollast's Rusi study says that if the armies of NATO partners wanted to create an independently produced drone arsenal based on the Ukrainian model, they would have to overcome multiple dependencies on China. This includes the production of semiconductors, which are necessary for the flight control of the drones."
