Dr Sidharth Kaushal, a senior research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi), estimated it would need a 450kg-550kg payload to double its range to 4,000km and hit targets in Britain if launched from northeast Iran. Such a payload could destroy a building. “So even though it is theoretically possible [to hit Britain], this would be a case of firing a limited capability over a well-defended trajectory with a small and inaccurate payload.”
