NATO and Europe
We've seen that pressure from the White House and that rhetoric from President Trump. He's been piling on the pressure on those alliance members to increase their spending...some are spending more quickly, on average almost all the NATO countries are now at the former 2% goal and some of them are projected to reach the 3.5% five years earlier than they would have to by the rules. The question is much more at the moment to what extent they're able to translate that spending into meaningful capabilities that the military can command."
