Recording: Reflections on the 2025 NATO Summit
A conversation with Ingrid Southworth, UK Deputy Permanent Representative to NATO and Lt Gen Sir Ian Cave, UK Military Representative to NATO and the EU.
The upcoming June summit in The Hague is a critical opportunity for allies and partners to evaluate and provide strategic direction for Alliance activities in the years ahead. The day after the conclusion of the summit, Ms Southworth and Lieutenant General Cave reflected on its key political and military outcomes, including continued support for Ukraine, the importance of bolstering equipment capabilities, and reaffirming the Alliance’s commitment to military readiness in response to escalating global threats.

Ingrid Southworth took up her current appointment in August 2023. Before this, she served as International Director in the Cabinet Office (2021-2023). Lieutenant General Sir Ian Cave KCB assumed his current role in November 2023. He was previously Commander Home Command and the UK Standing Joint Commander (2021-2023).
