RUSI Crypto and International Security Taskforce

This Centre for Finance and Security led taskforce explores the growing role of crypto and digital assets in today’s global security landscape.

This taskforce will bring together government officials, academic experts, private sector actors and practitioners to explore how crypto is reshaping responses to organised crime, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, ransomware, hostile state activity and other hybrid threats. It will also consider how crypto and blockchain analytics can support enforcement, investigations and international security objectives.

Taskforce outputs

Over a 12-month period, the Crypto and International Security Taskforce will convene quarterly expert meetings, drawing on CFS’s networks in London, Brussels and internationally. Its findings will inform CFS publications, policymaker briefings, public events and podcast and video outputs.

Building on CFS’s expertise at the intersection of finance and security, this taskforce will provide a timely forum for governments, international organisations, law enforcement, the private sector, experts and civil society to consider how crypto is changing the international security environment, and how the response should evolve.
