Yona Wanjala

Yona Wanjala is Executive Director of the Civic Advisory Hub. He has 15 years of expertise in AML/CFT risk management, compliance, regulation and FATF mutual evaluation processes. He has led initiatives such as NPOs-Regulators Connect and established NPO coalitions on FATF in Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Sudan. Wanjala is also a permanent member of the AML/CFT/CIFF Expert Hub and served for a decade as the Executive Director of the Defenders Protection Initiative. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in International Security Studies from the University of Leicester, UK, a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Nkumba University, Uganda, and a diploma in law from the Law Development Centre, Uganda.
