Poornima Subramanian is an expert in financial crime, technology and policy. She began her career in the defence sector specialising in open source intelligence before moving into banking, where she led an investigations team within HSBC’s Global Financial Crime Investigations function. Over the past two years as a consultant, she has focused on data-driven research, advisory and advocacy. Her focus areas include detection controls, payments fraud, and effective implementation of public digital infrastructure underpinning financial crime frameworks.
