Biography

Veronica is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Finance and Security at RUSI, specialising in financial crime policy. Her work focuses on the development and implementation of anti-financial crime policies and regulation in the UK and internationally.

Veronica brings over a decade of experience working at the intersection of finance and security across government and civil society, with experience shaping policy, delivering impactful research and working with law enforcement, policymakers and the private sector. Her areas of expertise include illicit finance and anti-corruption.

Before joining RUSI, Veronica was Head of Peace Economies at International Alert, where she led research and policy engagement on the links between finance and conflict. Prior to this, she worked for ten years at the FCDO and DFID, including as Head of the UK's International Centre of Expertise on Illicit Finance and Head of the FCDO's network of Illicit Finance Leads in Africa.

Veronica holds a Master’s degree in Conflict, Security and Development with distinction from the University of Birmingham and a first class BA (Hons) in Arabic and French from the University of Manchester.

This programme focuses on the development and implementation of effective anti-financial crime policies and regulation both in the UK and internationally.
