Dr Tom Smith

Dr Tom Smith is Academic Director at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell and Director of the University of Portsmouth’s Military Education Team. He works at the interface between defence, higher education and institutional change, with a particular focus on professional military education, AI and technology, and the translation of academic expertise into defence practice. He is also Associate Professor in International Relations at the University of Portsmouth and has published widely on defence education, national security and emerging technology.
