Michael Shearer

Michael Shearer is the founder of Positive Context, a risk management consultancy specialising in the use of Artificial Intelligence and Network Analytics to detect and investigate financial crime. A former Managing Director at HSBC, Michael led the creation of the bank’s global compliance data platform providing a unified, secure and trusted source of data for detection, investigations and analytics. Michael also pioneered their award-winning dynamic risk assessment and contextual monitoring systems. Before joining HSBC Michael spent 20 years in the UK national security community in a variety of operational and technical roles. He holds an M.Eng (First) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Queen’s University, Belfast, UK.
