Biography
Devika Shanker-Grandpierre is an expert in digital safety, threat disruption and the governance of online platforms, with operational experience of how major technology companies manage these challenges at scale.
She has held leadership roles at TikTok, where she led threat disruption globally, and at Meta, where she led platform integrity and risk operations across multiple regions. Devika engaged directly with governments and regulatory bodies on legislative frameworks governing online platforms and authored TikTok's inaugural transparency report on covert influence operations.
Devika currently serves as a Non-Executive Member on Ofcom's Online Information Advisory Committee, which advises Ofcom on matters specified in Section 152(4) of the Online Safety Act 2023. She serves as an independent expert on Ofgem's AI Regulation Lab, stress testing AI use cases from energy sector participants against Ofgem's regulatory framework. Devika is a Thematic Panel Member of the EU Knowledge Hub on Prevention of Radicalisation, run by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs, examining the impact of external geopolitical dynamics on radicalisation risks within the EU.
Her research insights on technology exploitation, extremist networks and disinformation have been published by the Global Network on Extremism and Technology, affiliated with King's College London's Department of War Studies.
