Biography
Rosalind Roberts joined RUSI in January 2026 as the Director of Research, overseeing the Institute’s research output.
Ros came to RUSI following four years as the Head of Research Analysts in the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) where she led the FCDO's in-house research analyst cadre delivering expert regional and thematic advice to ministers and officials.
Prior to this she served as the Head of Capability for All Source Analysis in the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), with responsibility for the professional development of MOD's all source intelligence analysis capability. Over her career, she has served in a range of analytic and leadership roles in the intelligence analysis profession in MOD, FCDO and the Home Office. As an analyst, Ros specialised in conflict and peace building in the Middle East and has also worked on a range of wider geopolitical and security issues, leading teams focused on other geographic regions, terrorism and extremism, counter proliferation and emerging technology.
Ros has a degree in International Politics and Security Studies and a Masters in International Peace and Security.
