Antonia-Laura Pup

Antonia-Laura Pup is a doctoral researcher at the European University Institute (EUI), where she examines European strategic autonomy in the technology sector. She is a Fulbright graduate of Georgetown University, where she specialised in technology and national security policy, completing her master's degree with distinction and serving as Graduate Class Marshal. She also holds a master's degree in International Security from Sciences Po Paris.

Previously, she served as an adviser to the Chair of the Defence Committee in the Romanian Parliament and as an adviser to a Member of the European Parliament. She was also a fellow with the United States Congress's Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party.

Antonia-Laura Pup is a foreign policy analyst in the Romanian media and has published op-eds and analysis on international affairs in The National Interest, The Cipher Brief, EU Reporter, New Eastern Europe, Balkan Insight, and Small Wars Journal, where she serves as Assistant Editor. Research interests: tech diplomacy and statecraft in a transatlantic context, cyber-enabled influence operations, Romania’s foreign and security policy, China’s influence in the Black Sea region.
