He led UK efforts to develop new capabilities for anticipating, analysing and responding to malign information activity by hostile states and their proxies.
His diplomatic roles included serving as Head of Public Diplomacy at the British Embassy in Washington and at the UK Mission to the European Union in Brussels. In both postings he developed new capabilities during periods of significant political and strategic change.
His work focuses on the intersection of technology, government and national resilience. He has particular expertise in cognitive security, hybrid threats, institutional preparedness and the development of policies and partnerships that support whole-of-society responses to information challenges.
He continues to advise governments and organisations on understanding and responding to threats, strengthening resilience, improving strategic communication and operating effectively in complex information environments.
