Natalie Moore

Head of Space Policy, Space Directorate, MOD

Biography

Natalie Moore has been Head of Space Policy for the Ministry of Defence since April 2021. As such, she was involved in the development and publication of the National Space Strategy and the Defence Space Strategy and is now helping to drive forward their implementation. 

Prior to this she headed up the Defence Team within the Cabinet Office’s National Security Secretariat. In that role she was involved in delivering the March 21 Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development and Foreign Policy and shaping the subsequent Defence Command Paper, both of which had a strong space component. Her team was also responsible for advising the PM and the NSA on the full breadth of Defence business from deterrence and arms control to Defence transformation and industrial policy.

Natalie has worked in and around Defence since 2004, with highlights including: a role in Defence Digital driving improvements to how the MOD uses data and information; leading the MOD’s input to the Baha Mousa Public Inquiry; a period at Army Headquarters working on Army welfare and boards of inquiry; and a role in the (MOD/FCDO) Stabilisation Unit where she ran a cadre of experts for deployment into a range of post-conflict scenarios. She lives in South East London and has two young daughters.
