Euan McGarr

Euan McGarr is a British Army Officer currently reading for an MPhil in Data Intensive Science at Cambridge University. With an academic background in Physics and prior experience at Amazon implementing EU-wide large-scale data projects, he has brought this expertise into the Armed Forces, combining it with his experience leading specialist teams in hostile military environments.

Using this combination of experience, he now plays a key role in a novel unit organically developing and deploying edge-based devices utilising software and AI to achieve tactical cyber and electromagnetic effects. Euan is particularly interested in cyber effects in the tactical domain and the integration of large-scale data techniques in human-centred environments, and is focused on accelerating the adoption of emerging technology and skills across defence and its people.
