Biography
Dr Andrea Ghiselli worked in China at Fudan University for nine years, and is now a Lecturer in International Politics in the Department of Social and Political Sciences, Philosophy, and Anthropology of the University of Exeter. He is also a non-resident research fellow with the TOChina Hub and the Head of Research for its ChinaMed Project.
He is a member of the editorial board of the Global Studies Quarterly, Armed Forces & Society, The Pacific Review, as well as OrizzonteCina.
From an empirical perspective, most of Dr Ghiselli's research focuses on Chinese foreign policy, particularly its approach to the Middle East and the factors that influence it. From a theoretical standpoint, his work draws on and contributes to the study of foreign policy analysis, public policy, and international political economy. He is particularly interested in all aspects of authoritarian foreign policymaking.
At the University of Exeter, he teaches foreign policy analysis and Chinese diplomacy, and he is the director of the MA Diplomacy and Foreign Policy programme.
