Dr Andrew Gee
Director, International SecurityInternational Security
Dr Andrew Gee is Director of International Security. He brings more than 16 years of national security experience in the UK Government, serving most recently in the Cabinet Office as Deputy Director for Middle East Strategy, and Head of International Energy and Climate, supporting policy and strategy development for No10 and the National Security Council.
Earlier in his career, Andrew served as Principal Analyst for Iraq and ISIS in the Joint Intelligence Organisation, where he provided assessments to the Joint Intelligence Committee on some of the most pressing security challenges facing the UK. He was also Head of Research for Counter-Radicalisation Campaigns at the Home Office.
Andrew began his career as a Senior Anthropologist at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), applying social science research to defence and security challenges.
Following his departure from government, Andrew has advised businesses on navigating geopolitical risk and has designed and delivered leadership and strategy programmes for senior executives and strategic communications professionals.
Andrew holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh. His doctoral research focused on Israel and Palestine, where he conducted extensive fieldwork.
