Biography
Beatriz de León Cobo is a researcher and analyst with expertise in security, diplomacy, political and social dynamics, conflict analysis, and violent radicalisation in West Africa and the Sahel.
She is the Director of an independent consultancy firm called Sic Transit Advisory, specialising in international strategic dialogue, conflict analysis, and good governance advising businesses, local and international NGOs, UN agencies and governments. Beatriz is a professor at Francisco de Vitoria University, where she directs the Sahel Europe Dialogue Forum, a platform that convenes policymakers, practitioners, and researchers to develop practical responses on security, humanitarian, and diplomatic challenges. She also works as an associate conflict advisor for First Call Partners, and as Executive Director of the think tank, the Spanish Institute for Migration Analysis.
Beatriz is a PhD candidate in sociology at Sorbonne University specialising in radicalisation, and holds a master’s degree in Defence, Security and Crisis Management from the Institut de Relations Internationales et Stratégiques (IRIS).
