Lieutenant Commander John Darcy

John Darcy is the First Sea Lord’s Visiting Fellow at RUSI. A former Commando Helicopter Force pilot and aviation warfare officer, he has held a variety of operational, staff and capability development appointments, including multiple overseas deployments.

Following a period in financial services and defence consultancy, he returned to Regular Service in 2023 and subsequently served as the United Kingdom's Naval Attaché to Ukraine. His research interests include maritime statecraft, military adaptation, strategy and force development.
