RUSI's Centre for Finance and Security and ManchesterCF Announce Partnership
The collaboration will offer new training and capacity building for those involved in fighting financial crime and sanctions evasion.
The Centre for Finance and Security (CFS) at RUSI and Canada based consultancy ManchesterCF Financial Intelligence have announced a new partnership spanning three initiatives.
ManchesterCF develops financial intelligence training programmes with a global perspective. Their training focuses on developing practical knowledge from case studies, regulatory reports and developments in international financial markets.
First, CFS will work with ManchesterCF to develop a new module for ManchesterCF’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Connect programme, addressing the financing of foreign influence within the international financial system. FIU Connect online financial intelligence training is already used by banks and governments around the world.
Second, ManchesterCF's specialist financial training will be integrated into the CFS global capacity-building programme, covering topics such as sanctions, proliferation financing and crypto-assets. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening knowledge and capabilities to address financial crime and security challenges.
Third, CFS and ManchesterCF will collaborate on the Financial Intelligence Specialist (FIS) designation for financial investigators and compliance professionals. FIS designation comes from ManchesterCF and the University of New Haven in Connecticut, for individuals who complete 12 FIU Connect modules over a one-year period.
Tom Keatinge, Founding Director of RUSI's Centre for Finance and Security said:
We are constantly looking for new ways to ensure that our capacity-building programmes live on beyond our in-country visits. A partnership with ManchesterCF to provide greater access to their training courses and to collaborate on new material, is a perfect fit.
