Noah Sylvia, a military tech researcher at the Royal United Services Institute, warns the UK may have a more fundamental problem: some of the Armed Forces’ essential computer programmes are decades old, meaning they “don’t connect to each other” and are “difficult to update”. The MoD has been “struggling to modernise” its systems before it can “add the AI on top”, he says.
