What has happened in recent weeks is that the central government in Damascus, led by interim president Ahmed al-Sharah, has acted militarily to take back key territory from the SDF [Syrian Democratic Forces]. And this is mainly driven by the failure to progress on what's called the March 10 agreement, which was agreed last year...It was more a series of principles by which the SDF and the interim government in Damascus would agree on the terms of what an SDF integration into central security and ministry of interior structures in Syria and Damasus would look like."
