Christianne Tipping joined the staff at RUSI after 7 years as an officer in the Royal Air Force where she worked mainly in the field of individual and organisational development. She also held positions related to corporate strategy formulation, public relations and business development. Prior to taking up her commission, Christianne worked as a personnel and training manager in the hotel and catering industry and a sales and marketing assistant for a publishing company. She holds an MBA, a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and a BSc in Biological Science. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
As Head of the Defence Management Programme, Christianne is responsible for conducting research, writing articles and arranging events relating to the governance, management and organization of defence. The programme is currently focused on: acquisition policy and practice; analysis of defence budgets and expenditure; defence industrial policy and strategy; policy for, and management of, science, innovation and technology; programme and project management; and the state and evolution of the defence and related industries in the UK and globally.
