Helen Ramscar

Associate Fellow

Biography

Helen Ramscar is an Associate Fellow of the Royal United Services Institute. She is co-author of Britain’s Persuaders: Soft Power in a Hard World (IB Tauris / Bloomsbury, November 2021) and Tipping Point: Britain, Brexit and Security in the 2020s (IB Tauris / Bloomsbury, November 2019). Her research interests also include vaccine nationalism and medical diplomacy within international relations.

Helen was Director of Development at RUSI during 2017-2018 and, before that, Executive Assistant to the Director-General from 2013. Prior to RUSI, she worked in China and Kenya, as well as the House of Commons, the private office of HRH The Prince of Wales, and the US Embassy in London. She is a graduate of Durham University, the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at SOAS, and Cass Business School. 

Helen currently lives in Switzerland and serves on the Basel board of the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce.
