Anna Rader is an Associate Fellow of RUSI with a research focus on the Horn of Africa and contemporary African development and security. She is currently undertaking a doctorate at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, where her research focuses on practices of statehood and citizenship in Somaliland. During 2012-14, Anna will be conducting research in the field. She has participated in international observation missions for elections in Somaliland and Sudan, and most recently worked for a UN agency in Somaliland.
From 2009 - 11, Anna was a member of the RUSI publications team, latterly as editor of the RUSI Journal, the Institute's flagship publication. Anna's background is in current affairs publishing, communications and project management; and she has an MA in International Peace and Security (Distinction) from King’s College London, and a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.
