Kayla is a Research Analyst at RUSI’s Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies. She joined RUSI in September 2018 following the completion of her Bachelor’s in International Relations at Boston University, with a concentration in foreign policy and security studies. Her thesis focused on the threat posed by terrorist usage of cryptocurrencies, and possible US national security responses.
Prior to joining RUSI, Kayla interned at both the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Department of State. She also interned at the D.C.-based think tank Foundation for Defense of Democracies within their Center for Sanctions and Illicit Finance, giving her a unique view of financial crime from both a governmental and non-governmental standpoint. Her work primarily looks at the intersection of financial technology and national security, as well as the changing landscape of terror finance.
