The Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI), in partnership with the Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique (FRS) and the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), is participating in a study of collaborative European space security programmes, against the background of the evolving European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP). We are focusing in particular on the views of UK ‘stakeholders’.
On 3 June 2005 we will be holding a half-day workshop at RUSI. The workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss the utility of space technologies against the background of recent operational experiences; the value of collaborative space R&D programmes in supporting future EU and NATO-led expeditionary operations; the current state of space technology utilisation in the UK; and areas in which collaborative European programmes might add value.
