Presentation by Sir Richard Dearlove, Master, Pembroke College, Cambridge and former Chief of the Secret Intelligence Service.
Sir Richard will talk about the changing nature of Intelligence and Security work in the aftermath of 9/11. In mature democracies intelligence collection is shaped by the influence of the predominant threats that must be met. As threats, terrorism in particular, have now become diffused and more asymmetric in nature, so intelligence organisations have themselves had to mutate to remain effective. How good has the response been to those challenges?
A sandwich lunch will be served from 1215.
