Money laundering and the related responses from government authorities have, for some time, been viewed as areas dominated by policymakers and international organisations such as the Financial Action Task Force. More recently, as money laundering suspicions and scandals have engulfed an increasing number of banks, it is the markets, not just government officials, that have spoken. The share prices of Swedbank fell by 32% in the weeks following anti-money laundering (AML) revelations, while Danske Bank lost close to 40% of its market value as continuous AML related disclosures have weighted on the stock over the past year.
In this briefing, RUSI is delighted to welcome Jacob Kruse, who will share his insights into money laundering and the markets.
Jacob Kruse is Managing Director at Alliance Bernstein and Senior Analyst for Autonomous Research. He has covered European banks at JPMorgan, Autonomous Research and Alliance Bernstein since 2001, focusing on Scandinavian Banks for the past ten years. Jacob holds a Master of Science in Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics.
These briefings are open to Major Corporate Level Members and above.
