RUSI is leading a research project entitled ‘Science and Technology for a Transforming Alliance’. The project seeks to evaluate the role of collective transatlantic S&T programmes in the context of NATO and EU military and political transformations. It is being developed along two parallel tracks:
1. A series of three workshops, providing structured opportunities for discussion and analysis of collective S&T programmes in the context of new security threats and NATO and EU military and political reforms;
2. An analysis paper, examining existing frameworks and programmes for collective transatlantic S&T, proposals for reform and alternative collaboration models.
The third workshop will take place at NATO HQ on 1 July 2005. It will focus on the NATO Security Through Science (STS) Programme, examining its future roles in the context of the NATO’s military and political transformations.
See the Word attachment below for a provisional workshop agenda.
