Workshop

UK PONI Network

The workshop consists of a series of seminars from both RUSI staff and external speakers from the UK Ministry of Defence, the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) and the University of York.

The sessions will include introductions to nuclear deterrence, disarmament, and non-proliferation, as well as the impact of emerging and disruptive technologies on nuclear weapons decision-making.

This workshop is aimed at postgraduate students and early career professionals working in the nuclear technology field who have not yet had significant exposure to nuclear weapons policy issues, including those in academia, government, and industry.

How to attend

This year’s session will be a hybrid event. In-person places at this workshop are limited to enhance interaction with the speakers and networking between participants. There will be 25 participants selected to take part in person. If you are interested in participating, please complete the registration form by Monday, 27 March, 12pm (BST). Make sure you select whether you want to participate in person OR online. Unfortunately, we cannot offer any bursaries for travel to London.

Selected participants will be contacted by Wednesday, 29 March. Participation is required for the duration of the entire event if you apply to take part in person. Lunch and coffee/tea breaks will be provided.
