Russia’s War Against Ukraine
RUSI experts examine the impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine on both countries, as well as on European security, and consider the likely future trajectory of the war.
On 24 February 2022, in a major escalation of the Russia–Ukraine war that began in 2014, Russia launched a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine. One year on from the attack, Moscow has failed to achieve its main war goals, while Ukraine and Russia have suffered hundreds of thousands of causalities, and Ukraine has been devastated by Russian bombing. With both sides preparing for further major fighting, in this roundtable to mark the anniversary of the invasion, RUSI experts examine the impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine on both countries, as well as on European security, and consider the conflict’s future trajectory.
- How has the war affected Ukraine and its capacity to continue to oppose Russia’s invasion?
