RUSI’s Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies (CFCS) is delighted to welcome you to a discussion exploring prominent financial crime threats in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, the process of recovering criminal crypto assets and how risk-mitigation strategies should be built into regulations in the UK and abroad.

From funding North Korea’s WMD programme, to facilitating drugs trafficking, terrorism and online child exploitation, cryptocurrencies offer bad actors a new dimension in which to manage and launder their gains. Policymakers, supervisors and law enforcement agencies are gradually responding; and the private sector is developing solutions to help.

To discuss how the response to this growing challenge can be best advanced, we will be joined by a panel of experts to discuss their work in this field.

  • Aidan Larkin, CEO and Co-Founder of Asset Reality.
  • David Carlisle, VP of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at Elliptic.
  • Allison Owen, Research Analyst, CFCS.

The event will be moderated by Scott Chipolina, Digital Assets Correspondent, Financial Times.

Drinks will be served from 17:15, following the end of the panel discussion.
