This meeting explores how cooperation with the financial sector on identification and disruption of human trafficking can support the creation of the UK's first slavery-free city and county.
RUSI's Centre for Financial Crime & Security Studies is delighted to host a discussion with the University of Nottingham’s modern slavery research team, a university Beacon of Excellence called the Rights Lab, (including Professor Kevin Bales and Pro Vice Chancellor Todd Landman) and Nottinghamshire's local government leaders (including members of the Nottingham and Notts Modern Slavery Partnership).
The core objectives of the session will be to (a) build awareness of how communities can become slavery-free; (b) to discuss how this work can engage with the financial sector; and (c) exchange views on how the financial sector might contribute to the overall project objective.
This will be an initial discussion from which we hope further collaboration will emerge.
This event is invite-only. For any questions about this event, please contact Lieke Bos, Project Officer, at LiekeB@rusi.org
