Trident ClydeNuclear weapons have always been a controversial topic in Scotland. This is particularly the case in the lead-up to the referendum. The Scottish Government has made the removal of UK nuclear weapons from the Clyde a key component of its campaign for independence, whilst the rest of the UK has been unwilling to contemplate their relocation.

To launch their Occasional Paper on this topic, Professor Malcolm Chalmers and Hugh Chalmers, Research Director and Research Analyst at RUSI, will discuss the role nuclear weapons play in the policies of Scotland and the UK, and debate their future on the Clyde in the event of a vote for (or against) independence.

The debate will be opened to the floor for discussion after their presentations, and will be followed by a lunch reception.
