A reception examining the effects and purposes of the Armed Forces Covenant and how organisations are putting corporate and community covenants into use.
Over the past twelve months Nationwide Building Society has sponsored RUSI to engage with the government on policy and planning for the Armed Forces Covenant, commercial organisations who have signed a Covenant pledge and military beneficiaries and their families.
Professor John Louth will present the findings of this research and discuss whether the mechanisms in place to encourage employers to support the military community are effective for organisations, civilians and the military community itself and establish whether signing the pledge is a badge of honour, a tick-box exercise or a real catalyst for policy and cultural change within an organisation.
Members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group of the Armed Forces Covenant and senior executives from Nationwide will be available on the evening to discuss the findings.
The event will feature:
- Professor John Louth, Senior Research Fellow and Director for Defence,Industries and Society, RUSI

- David Roberts, Chairman, Nationwide Building Society
