Pre-election Defence Debate
Senior representatives from all the main parties took part in a RUSI debate on defence and security ahead of the election.
Defence may well form a major part of the general election campaign where policymakers must deal with the future of the nuclear deterrent, managing an overstretched Ministry of Defence budget and growing discussion on the possibility (whoever wins) of bringing forward the date of the next SDSR.
The panellists were:
Conservative Party: Harriett Baldwin
Labour Party: Nia Griffith
Liberal Democrats: The Rt Hon Lord Wallace of Saltaire
Green Party: Dr Rebecca Johnson
Scottish National Party: Brendan O’Hara
RUSI will also be holding events on Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs.
