The Palestinian people are still without a state, and the peace process with Israel has not moved forward in years. A proposed 'Deal of the Century' launched by the US Administration has been much talked about, but very little information has as to the parameters of this deal exist. The Palestinians face increasing economic pressure from the United States, but appear uninterested in supporting the deal. Dr Saeb Erekat discussed these issues, and addressed the position of the Palestinian people toward the deal in the context of wider regional challenges.
The event was chaired by Sir Malcolm Rifkind.
