The security and economic outlook for Pakistan in 2016 is improving. The suppression of violence in its hinterlands, and the impact of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would indicate a much improved security and economic situtation in Pakistan in the two years since Operation Zarb-e-Azb was launched. Yet high levels of violence in Afghanistan, as well as continuing occassional attacks within Pakistan, like the recent attack at Bacha Khan University, show how the problems have not been completely eliminated.

Now is a useful time to step back and consider the progress that has been made, as well as evaluate what problems remain for Pakistan's army.

RUSI is delighted to host a visiting delegation from Pakistan that will include:

Wajahat S Khan, Pakistan Defence and Foreign Affairs Correspondent, NBC News

Lieutenant General Masood Aslam, Former XI (Peshawar) Corps Commander (2007-2010), Pakistan Ambassador to Mexico (2011-), and Director General NAB (National Accountability Bureau)

This event is free of charge and open to all.
