The Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies invites you to join an online briefing with Aaron Arnold, the financial expert on the UN Panel of Experts on North Korea.
In this briefing, Mr. Arnold provides an update on the panel’s forthcoming report, including new trends in North Korean illicit financing and cyber operations.
The UN Panel of Experts on North Korea was set up to monitor the implementation of UN sanctions on North Korea, and the panel’s bi-annual reports provide an unprecedented insight into sanctions evasion techniques and the ability of UN member states and the private sector to implement sanctions on North Korea.
Before joining the Panel in 2019, Mr. Arnold was a fellow with the Project on Managing the Atom at Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, where his research focused on sanctions and WMD counter-proliferation policy. Mr. Arnold also spent more than a decade as a non-proliferation and counter-proliferation subject matter expert at the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Justice Department, where he specialized in WMD counter-proliferation investigations and operations, with an emphasis on threat finance and sanctions evasion.
