In this private event, two major figures in the Government of Kenya will discuss the challenge of navigating democracy and security at this critical time. Ambassador Monica Juma, D.Phil, CBS is Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She was previously Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, and has served in a wide variety of posts in both government and inter-governmental organisations. Ambassador Martin Kimani, PhD is the Director of Kenya’s National Counter Terrorism Centre and Special Envoy CVE. Prior to this role, he was Permanent Representative and Head of Mission to the United Nations at Nairobi and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
