NATO: The Road to the Vilnius Summit
A conversation with Ambassador Baiba Braže, Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy, NATO, ahead of the Alliance’s summit in Vilnius.
Overview
The heads of state and government of NATO countries are gathering in Vilnius on 11–12 July to focus on strengthening the Alliance's collective defence and deterrence and on increasing support for Ukraine.
Ambassador Braže will reflect on some of the key challenges to be addressed at the Summit, including how the Alliance should maintain its cohesion and what the Russian invasion of Ukraine means for the long-term future of European security.
About the speaker
Ambassador Baiba Braže was appointed to her current role in May 2020. She previously served as Latvia’s Ambassador to the UK and as Director General Security Policy and International Organisations and Director General of the Communications Directorate at the Latvian Foreign Ministry.
