National Resilience: Preparing for Future Challenges
The current pandemic has forced us to adapt our lives, make sacrifices and work rapidly around complex challenges, both at home and at work. Our resilience – as a country, as businesses, as communities and as individuals – has been repeatedly tested. Is there more we can do to better assess, communicate and prepare for risk? Is there more we can do to enhance collaboration on resilience? Should we be doing more on resilience now to secure the UK’s future?
Penny Mordaunt, Paymaster General, will discuss how building UK resilience is a nationwide endeavour. She will also explain why now is an opportune moment for a renewed approach and highlight the role the UK public has in this effort.
The speech outlines the plan for a National Resilience Strategy in 2022, and emphasises the current Call for Evidence as a key opportunity for the public to share their perspectives.
