RUSI is to hold an exhibition to highlight the contribution of Bomber Command to the Allied victory during the Second World War and also the building of a new memorial in London.
The exhibition, to be hosted by the Institute, has been put together by the Bomber Command Association and includes a model of the new memorial, scheduled to open this summer in Green Park, to commemorate the sacrifice made by the aircrews. The display continues with information panels, photographs and exhibits, including a bombsight, aircrew logbook, flak maps and targeting material.
The exhibition provides a fascinating insight into the history of the Command and highlights both its role during the war and the sacrifices made by its airmen.
The launch event, with drinks reception, will begin at 1800 on 23 January. The Director-General of RUSI, Professor Michael Clarke, will give a brief introduction to the exhibition.
Please note there are limited spaces available for this launch event and they will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
The exhibition is free and RUSI members can visit at any time during the Institute's opening hours.
It will also be open to the public on the following dates:
Monday 30 January, 1000-1700
Tuesday 31 January, 1300-1700
