In her presentation Anna will discuss the impact and implications on Kazakhstan of the evolving sanctions regime imposed on and by Russia, looking at how this has affected key economic sectors such as oil and gas, and financial services. Due to Kazakhstan’s status as a key regional partner to both Russia and the West, she will also consider the implications of the sanctions and related tensions between Russia and the West on Kazakhstan’s domestic political outlook, as well as its relationship with Russia itself and other significant regional players.
