This event will examine the Pakistan Air Force and its modern day fields of kinetic operations and engagement
This event will explore the Pakistan Air Force's (PAF) role in the war against terror in terms of close air support missions during the operations in tribal areas. The event will also consider how the PAF has engaged with Indian Air Force in post Pulwama crisis, an institutional perspective of the whole episode.
Speakers will include:

Air Vice Marshal Aamir Masood was commissioned in 1988 as Fighter Pilot in Pakistan Air Force. An accomplished Fighter Pilot having flown various fighter aircrafts on PAF inventory, and a graduate of the coveted Combat Commanders’ School. He completed his Staff Course from Indonesia Command & Staff College, National Security and War Course from National Defence University, Islamabad and Masters in Defence Analysis from Naval Postgraduate School, California, USA. Presently he is serving as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Traning).
Air Marshal Javaid Ahmed (Retd) is director ‘Policy and Doctrine’ at Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies Islamabad, CASS. He holds a Master’s Degree in Defence & Strategic Studies from Air War College (AWC) and a Master’s Degree in War Studies from National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad. In his 40 years of commissioned service as a fighter pilot with Pakistan Air force, the Air Marshal flew several fighter aircraft and served in senior command and staff assignments. These include command of the prestigious Combat Commanders School (CCS), an operational Base, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Plans), Chief Project Director (CPD) of the JF-17 fighter production program and command of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra.
His specialist areas of research include analysis of aerospace development policies, doctrine formulation, implementation strategies and force postures.
